Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament with the Particle of the Lord's Body - a miracle from Sokółka In the chapel in the church of St. Antoni in Sokółka (Podlasie) on Sunday solemnly placed for public adoration reliquary with the Particle of the Body of the Lord. In 2009, in the Sokółka church, the priest dropped a communicant on the floor during communion. In accordance with the rules in force in such a situation, he was placed in a special vessel to dissolve in water. After a week, a stain appeared on it, giving the impression of blood. The communicant was subjected to specialist research. Specialists of pathomorphology from the Medical University of Bialystok found that the material is a part of the myocardium, cardiac muscle in agony. These events were then called "a miracle" in Sokółka.The Sunday celebrations in Sokółka were attended by crowds of the faithful, including numerous pilgrimages. The service was presided over by the Metropolitan of Bialystok, Archbishop Edward Ozorowski. From the chapel at the presbytery, first to the altar in front of the church, and then to the Chapel of the Rosary in the church, the believers adored the type of the reliquary with the Lord's Body Particle: a white cloth (corporal) with a bloody semicircle stain about 1, 5 cm by 1.5 cm and a monstrance with the Blessed Sacrament, where they will be permanently present. The reliquary is behind the armored window. Metropolitan bishop said in the homily that it happened in history that "the substance of the body of Christ or his blood became available to the senses of man." That's how it happened in Sokółka, "he said. He explained that the research carried out by pathomorphologists "empirically confirm what we accept with the gospel faith". "The experience of faith allows for natural experience, but it does not reduces to him (...) So what was the body of Christ in the Sokółka event, it is now, but in a different way" - he said. The Metropolitan also said that God gives signs to the faithful, he usually performs miracles in order to strengthen the faith or restore it. "What's happening in Sokółka is connected with faith. It has to be so strong that the impossible becomes possible. For God there is nothing impossible ", Archbishop Ozorowski emphasized and added that everywhere where the holiest sacrifice is celebrated, the Eucharistic miracle takes place," but it was doubled in Sokółka, and the miracle of faith was strengthened by an empirical miracle. " The events of 2009 in Sokółka were examined by the ecclesiastical commission in 2010 and it was decided that „there was no interference of third parties“ regarding these Eucharistic phenomena, which means that they are not a mystification. Case files are in the Apostolic Nunciature in Warsaw and in the Vatican. Spokesman of the Metropolitan Curia in Białystok, priest Dr. Andrzej Dębski told PAP that the matter of recognition of the Eucharistic miracle in Sokółka is the responsibility of the Vatican. He added that quick decisions in this matter should not be expected. The church will observe whether cult will develop in this place, or will there be inexplicable phenomena, such as eg healing or conversion - he explained. Two of the most well-known events of this type, such as in Sokółka, which became the object of worship, are first of all the Eucharistic miracle of the eighth century from Lanciano in Italy, where the host turned into a circular fragment of the human heart. Research has confirmed that it is human tissue. It is also an event from 1263 from Bolsena, Italy, where human blood dripped from a host to a fragment of a corporal (white canvas). Medical examinations confirmed that it was indeed blood. [Source: PAP]
